Biz Bashing in LAI was hired by Bizbash (the nation's industry leader in event planning news, ideas and resouces) to cover their annual West Coast Bizbash blowout event at the Los Angeles Convention Center this past Wednesday and Thursday. The Tuesday night kickoff event was at the Belasco Theatre, featuring hand rolled cigars, arial arobatics, yummy looking food and a number of the industries biggest names in event production. David Adler, the founder and CEO of Bizbash was there, along with Anna Sekula, Bizbash's Editor-in-Chief. The next morning I spent the day running all over the LA Convention Center covering break out sessions geared towards helping event planners "up their game" as well as covering numerous events taking place in the main hall which featured over 4o0 exhibitors. Every hour at the main stage was a presentation, from a "taste-off" between 5 of the best chefs in the industry to live performance art painting by Gregory Adamson of Marilyn Monroe. Thursday night the after party was held at a brand new night club called The Reserve, which is built in the vault of the original Los Angeles branch of the Federal Reserve. While these 2 days were exhausting, I had the opportunity to get to shmooze with tons of event planners, caterers, environment designers and other industry "movers & shakers". I was also given kudos by having my name plastered all over the convention's promotional materials. Check out Bizbash's Facebook album from the event and let me know what you think...
